Sothern and wife Julia Marlowe, whose Shakesperean talents he holds above reproach. "There is no actor on our stage who can speak either English or verse as these two Americans can.... Who is there on our stage who has completely mastered the first two requirements of acting? No one now acting in English except Julia Marlowe and Edward Sothern." Produced for the Poets' Theater, the play/poem is contemporary with her editing of the Floating Bear periodical along with Amiri Baraka (LeRoi Jones) and mentions Ray Johnson, Bob Heide, Herbert Huncke, Nick Cernovitch, George Herms, Billy Linich, John Wieners, and others.

Gotheborg, Norway: Samuel Norberg, 1782. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. 76p. The Swedish translation of Einer Tambeskilver (1772). The original Norwegian edition is very rare and OCLC locates one copy in Munich. Early translations into Swedish and Danish are uncommon. This play was a major factor in bringing Snorri's name before the Norwegian public. It was the first published Swedish tragedy that swept the nation and was quickly translated throughout Northern Europe and led to the publications of the great Norse legends in multi-volume sets. A scarce item in very good condition in original wrappers.
