In Hungarian. 1968 first edition Magveto (Budapest, Hungary), 5 1/8 x 7 3/8 inches tall black hardbound in publisher's unclipped dust jacket, red lettering to front cover and spine, ribbon marker sewn in, red endpapers, title page in black and red ink, 121 pp. plus colophon. Slight soiling, rubbing and edgewear to covers. Otherwise, a very good copy - clean, bright and unmarked - in a slightly stained and edgeworn dust jacket which is nicely preserved and displayed in a clear archival Brodart sleeve. Scarce. OCLC (No. 15045996) locates only eight copies at institutions worldwide, ~HHH~ A collection of poems by Hungarian writer, educator, journalist and translator Agnes Gergely (b. 1933). In 1963, she published her first poetry collection Ajtofelfamon jel vagy (Sign on my door jamb). She published her first novel A tolmacs (The interpreter) in 1973. Gergely was awarded the Attila Jozsef Prize in 1977 and 1987 and the Kossuth Prize in 2000.
