Back cover has slightly bent corners, some edge wear and minor marks from adjacent book on shelf, but no rips or stains. Spine has some edge wear all four sides but no rips, is clean and quite bright, has a few small creases top and bottom. Book Insides VERY GOOD/ Covers Very Good. Sewn binding. Boards are burgundy cloth with corners, spine and quarter boards in burgundy leather, lettering gilt. FRONT COVER has some edge wear but not worn through, corner edges are rubbed, the cloth part has a few light stains, the leather has a light, vertical scratch. SPINE is leather with the title and volume number, a leaf and an illustration of a marble column all in gilt, the spine has light wear on both vertical sides, also light wear on top and bottom with a minor bit of chipping and a 1/4 tear in the leather at spine top edge. The BACK COVER is in about the same condition as the front with a bit more wear to the leather corners. Page edges are sunned and side edges have a few stains, top edges are gilt, still shiny. Book VERY GOOD/ Covers Good Please read my detailed description. Coated Paper. Boards and spine are blue cloth, lettering black. FRONT COVER has black embossed Britannia Seated, a depiction of what appears to be a head-on view of sailing ship sails and mast figurehead, and in black embossed lettering Arnold’s School Series, Britannia History Readers, Book II, 1s 6d (this is the price in shillings and pennies). The front cover has two bent corners one with the cloth worn and one with a small tear, some edge wear, some light soil on open side edge. The SPINE text has been worn with the years and parts are not as clear but the entire text is present and legible, the spine is worn at top and bottom with wear to the cloth on the top 1/8 inch of spine and same on bottom, the spine has a bit of edge wear to front and back edges.… Read More

Covers are flat, clean, bright, no rips, no bent corners, no vertical creases beside spine, one mild mark almost a crease on front, no edge wear. Page edges slightly sunned. Inside of book is tight, clean, clear, bright, flat. Lots of colour and black/white photos.
