The Grolier Society Limited, London , 1926. First Edition. Hardcover. VG/--. 9 5/8 H x 6 3/4 W x 1 1/4 . NON SMOKING STORE. My listing includes PHOTO OF ACTUAL BOOK for sale. Book Insides VERY GOOD/ Covers Very Good. Sewn binding. Boards are burgundy cloth with corners, spine and quarter boards in burgundy leather, lettering gilt. FRONT COVER has some edge wear but not worn through, corner edges are rubbed, the cloth part has a few light stains, the leather has a light, vertical scratch. SPINE is leather with the title and volume number, a leaf and an illustration of a marble column all in gilt, the spine has light wear on both vertical sides, also light wear on top and bottom with a minor bit of chipping and a 1/4 tear in the leather at spine top edge. The BACK COVER is in about the same condition as the front with a bit more wear to the leather corners. Page edges are sunned and side edges have a few stains, top edges are gilt, still shiny. Inner end papers are white, inside of back cover has the paper torn diagonally across lower outer corner where the corner was quite bent outwards at one time, now restored flat, inside of front cover has a light tear on the inner bottom 1 1/2 inches at spine. Inside of book is clean and legible, some pages may have a few light marks. The book appears intact (I didn’t look at each and every page). The book is over-opened at Pages 1184/1185 (small gap where spine can be seen), 1256/1257 (same and 1/4 inch tear in paper on spine side), 1276/1277 (no gap and no spine showing), 1392/1393 (small gap where spine can be seen), 1408/1409 (gap about 1/8 inch where spine can be seen but threads are intact), 1424/1425 (small gap where spine can be seen), 1456/1457 (same). Page 1532 has a 1 inch tear at the bottom. Inside the back cover at the spine, the paper is starting to wear, but is not worn through. Editor for Canada R. Bruce Taylor. With an Introduction by H. J. Cody, Chairman Board of Governors University of Toronto. Black/white photos and illustrations. Contents include The Book Of The Earth, The Book Of Plant Life, The Book Of Wonder, The Book Of Canada, Famous Books, The Book Of Stories, Things To Make And Do, Helps To Learning, Coloured Plates.

IMPORTANT RE POSTAGE: I'm in Canada so books to the USA/Other Countries are International shipments and may be delayed by CUSTOMS and/or HOMELAND SECURITY. I'm using the Biblio standard postage matrix, which gives average postage fees, therefore sometimes for an OVERSIZE or LARGE heavy book or expensive book, the postage may be too low and may require extra charges. If I know this in advance, I will notify the buyer before the order is processed.

This is not a huge book warehouse, it is a small one-owner store run by a true book lover. POSSIBLE DELAYS: I'm elderly and disabled and while this usually does not cause a delay in order processing, it sometimes may cause a small delay for me to get to the post office.
