Cover art by Tony Finlayson depicts an African family receiving a bowl of Nestle powdered formula from a ship (a reference to the controversial marketing of infant formula to women in the Third World who lacked access to clean water). The African American author, born Craig Gooding, took the name Ram Bhaghat (spelling later changed to Bhagat) after becoming a disciple of the yoga teacher and microbiology professor Janeshwar Upadhyay. His poetry addresses racism, junk food, environmental destruction, and gun violence. The author went on to establish the Drums No Guns percussion ensemble.

Springfield: Department of Buddhist Education, Buddhist Churches of America, 1995. Pamphlet. Tri-fold brochure, 3.75x8.5 inches. 1995 reprint, very good condition. Explains meaning behind the characters in "Eitaikyo" and other Buddhist concepts. Reverend Tsuji was the first U.S. citizen to serve as Bishop of the Buddhist Churches of America. He was born in British Columbia, and attended Ryukoku University in Kyoto before returning to Canada shortly before WWII. He was later sent to Slocan during the incarceration of Japanese Canadians. Tsuji moved to San Francisco and opened the Buddhist Bookstore along with becoming president of the Institute of Buddhist Studies in Berkeley. As a minister, he opened the first Shin Buddhist temple in the Southeast, a position that he held at the time of this pamphlet's publication.
