[Japan].. [circa1950s].. Colour woodblock print, 35.7 x 28 cms; 46.7 x 34.1 cms (sheet size), artist's signature and chop lower right, adhesive residue to upper and lower margins from previous matting (outside image area), otherwise very good, bright condition. Lovely Japanese woodblock print of a sunflower, with artist's signature and seal in the image at lower right. Printed on thick art paper, with burring from the baren on verso. Ikeda Duigetsu (1877-1944), specialised in flower painting. He in 1932 he published "Album of Flowers by Zuigetsu" (瑞月草花画譜), a set of 60 woodcut prints depicting flowers. .
