New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1904 Beautiful dark red binding with an ivory cameo inset with an elephant and a swastika (a Hindu religious symbol), a gilt border on the front cover, gilt printing on the spine and a gilt decoration on the spine. The binding has no bumping or rubbing. Gilt top edges of the 438 pages, deckle-edged. The pages are crisp, clean, unmarked, uncreased. Appears to be unread with some uncut pages. Frontispiece, and all illustrations, with tissue guards. The binding is good and tight with the back inside hinge just starting to crack. A fine collector's copy from a non-smoking household.
