London: Hodder and Stoughton. [1913]. First edition. First edition. Deluxe edition, signed by Hugh Thomson. Large 4to. Publisher's original full vellum binding with gilt decoration and titles to the upper board and spine. Top edge gilt. An excellent copy, the binding with a rubbing and darkening to the extremities and a nicely rounded spine. Illustrated with 22 tipped in tissue guarded colour plates all of which are in fine condition. Further line drawings and vignettes by Hugh Thomson throughout. There is a partially removed bookplate to the front endpaper otherwise clean and bright throughout. This copy number hand numbered 633 of 1000.
