About This Item
Original photograph measuring 11" x 14" in sepia tone showing Frye Hotel, the Young Inn and Cafe with unidentified business with sign Carlo's. The Frye Hotel located at 223 Yesler and when new in 1911 was considered Seattle's finest hotel. This photograph appears to be taken in the late 1950's with a Chinese gentleman inside a new Cadillac in front of the Young Inn. A very nice photograph showing where Chinatown began near 3rd Avenue and Yester and the Frye hotel had begun to fall on hard times. The good on the large neon sign reads: "Young's Inn/Chop Suey/Noodles". In this era, most Americans knew only the words "chop suey" and "chow mein
