The contents includes lectures on Spaniards versus Russians, The British Approach by Land and Sea, The French Look In and The Americans Reach out. Illustrated in black and white wityh facsimiles of letters and drawings. From the copyright page, "First published as the complete issue of the British Columbia Library Quarterly for January 1969... in an edition of 750 copies. With a foreword by Samuel Rothstein. An account of important books concerning the early exploration and history of British Columbia. Originally published as the complete issue of the 'British Columbia Library Quarterly' for January of 1969.
