Black cloth with bright gold and dusty blue lettering on front board, spine rubbed badly w/little color or gilding left. Straight, tight copy, former owner's name w/date (1948) neatly penned on pastedown. Corners very slightly bent. Top edge blue stain. The story of an elderly black farmer who is arrested for the murder of a white man. It is up to a young white boy to find the real murderer. The movie from the novel by MGM in 1949, was directed by Clarence Brown and the screen play written by Ben Maddow ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 247pp pages; FL .
