This New edition was edited by Frederick Webb Hodge, Volume 1 published in 1933 and the following two volumes in 1934. A total of 123 full-page color plates, two photogravure portraits, and two folding color maps. The color plates are protected by captioned tissue-guards. Collated complete. A clean set throughout. Originally published 1836-1844. The original oil paintings from which the color portraits were copied were destroyed in the 1865 Smithsonian fire!
