About This Item

New York: D. Appleton and Company, 1864. The vast collection of poetry, from classical times up to 1857, when the book was first published, is in Good + condition. It comes from a private college library and library markings are on the rear endpaper, with a tucked-in library card having only one date, January, 1935. The book is tightly bound in a library binding. The top spine cloth is rubbed, and the bottom spine cloth is missing about 3/4 of an inch. (Click on photo). This Ninth Edition was published in 1864. The book includes an Index of Authors and an Index according to subject matter. The rebinder has mixed up the order of some of the Index pages, six of which are edge-taped and one of which is missing a corner. The text of the poems have no such problems and the text is mostly clean and bright, without foxing problems. The book measures 6 1/4 by 9 1/2 inches and includes 798 pages. Media Mail shipping for this heavy volume will be adjusted to total $5.95. International buyers should email me in advance regarding increased shipping rates.. Hard Cover.
