About This Item
Dallas: Energy Publications, 1981. Quarto. 229p. Many illustrations providing how oil technology developed with a history of the down-hole tools and dozens of photographic illustrations as well as drill string components and the rig floor. With the same equipment today, oil can still be produced without the problem of poor recovery causes. The last chapter provides the basis for deep sea offshore drilling along the Gulf coast of Texas and Louisiana but the author does not deal a lot with possible safety concerns but does emphasize the importance of regular maintenance because of salt water's problems. Bound in black pictorial gilt cloth depicting an oilrig. Some spotting to rear board and owner's name to upper fore-edge. A very good copy.
