London: John Murray, Albemarle Street, 1841. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. George Cruikshank. Signed binding by "Root & Son." Hardcover bound in 20th century 3/4 morocco with raised bands on the spine. Spine designs in gilt and with Cruikshank's facsimile signature in gilt on the spine. The binding shows light to moderate wear; the front hinge shows some rubbing. Top edge gilt. Signed (in type) by the binder at the top (verso) of the front flyleaf, "Bound by Root & Son". Patterned endpapers. A sound copy with clean text. Illustrated with 10 engravings. The "Songs" are text only (poetry); there is no scored music in this work. (Please note: Only the binding is signed (in type). This book is NOT signed by either the Dibdins or by Cruikshank).
