About This Item

Kuala Lumpur: Oxford University Press. 1975. Reprint. Publisher's original brown cloth with titles in gilt to the spine, in dustwrapper. Illustrated in black and white with reproductions of the original engravings and with a large folding map to the rear. A very good copy, the binding firm, the bottom corners with minor bumping, the cloth lightly rubbed at the edges and the lower board. The contents, with slight spotting to the text block edge, are otherwise clean and without stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the rubbed, nicked and creased original dustwrapper which has a few short closed tears at the edges. An 'Oxford in Asia Historical Reprints' edition of Marsden's late eighteenth-century account of the history, customs, government, flora and fauna of Sumatra, reproducing the corrected and extended third edition of 1811. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request. Lucius Books welcomes direct contact with our customers.
