The first edition. Bound in the publisher's original cloth. Written by English author, Stanley J. Weyman, who was known for his works of historical fiction and for his compelling romance novels. This particular novel is set during the early reign of George the Third, surrounding the highways and byways of England. It tells the story of a complicated romance between people of different social backgrounds and the difficulties that ensue from unrequited love. Illustrated with a frontispiece. Bound in the publisher's original cloth. Externally, very good, with light bumping to the extremities and to the spine. The odd mark. Slight loss to the head of the spine, with a few small tears to the joints, including two horizontal tears. A touch of fading to the spine. Hinges are a little strained, but holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good
