Good. 22.5 Cms x 29 Cms. 183 pp., num.black & white photoplates & maps ex-pagination+1 unf.col.geological map. Internally clean, tight & unmarked but a few nicks to outer edges from fr. endpaper through to leaf 7/8 (will repair these with archival mending tissue on order) and a few bottom outer corners curled/dogged; ex-Royal Colonial Institute with their very faint oval stamp, dated 1910, top t.p. and even more faintly top fr. cover, which also has an ink lib.number at top, no other library markings. Covers are clean but sp.very worn exposing gatherings at top & bottom, outer edge fr. cover nicked, and creased across bottom corner, back cover similar, but less severe. (Again, will try to repair on order.) Apparently scarce and surely of interest for anyone researching impact of global warming on Alaska.

VG/Good-VG. 15.5 Cms x 23 Cms. f/piece (Parry photo portrait)+xv+236; creasing to one leaf which looks like a paper fault, faint traces of old pencilled pricing top fr. endpaper, otherwise internally clean, tight & unmarked; covers clean and unworn but two very thin, quite faint, vertical lines to front of little consequence, jacket clean but top edge ragged in parts with 5.5 cm tear from top corner down and sm. tear/chip top fr. joint.

Fine-/Fine. 13.5 Cm x 22 Cm. 224 pp., 93 text figs. throughout; only significant fault is very faint tanning strips to inner edges of endpapers, this being offset from jacket wraparounds and likely to be common to most copes. Unclipped jacket fine (will add protective sleeve when ordered.) An attractive and informative journey through the goddess related festivals in different cultures throughout the year.

Main fault is some kind of chemical damage across fr.endpapers (which has tunred them from white to yellow) which continues through to bottom of f/piece to which it has given a stippledtexture, as well as causing discoloration, the f/piece is also becoming loose, crease lower t.p., good gutters and otherwise internally tight & unmarked; covers clean, tight & minimally worn but some discol.lower fr.corner & sl.sp.fading. This is the 6th instalment of Hodson's War Diary, the only from outside UK. 302 pp.; small number top front endpaper and bookseller's small green stamp 'J.Ray & Sons/ Rawalpindi' at bottom, otherwise internally clean, tight and unmarked, covers clean and minimally worn but a few tiny holes to front joint , these not serious, and all a bit dull, esp. spine; unclipped jacket has just a few surface marks to back, but spine browned with chipped ends slightly affecting the 'D' of 'AND' in title at top and pub. imprint at bottom + a couple of tiny holes (will add protective sleeve when ordered despite low price as it is worth presevring). Good-VG/No Jacket. 13 Cm X 19 Cm. xlii+136; faint tanning to endpapers, but initially extensive brown flecking reducing through to c. p.xxxii and resuming, though lightly, c. p.117; very faint pencil underlining and marginalia throughout Introduction mostly noting proper names - this is genuinely too faint to really be a problem and easily erased in any case, 1919-dated sig. top frotn endpaper. This 2nd ed. has some corrections of attribution and word meanings detailed in a Preface to the Second Edition. What is perhaps touching and worth noting is that the dedication reads 'To the Yorkshiremen Serving their Country in Trench or on Battleship I respectfully dedicate this collection of Songs from the Homeland'. A controversial work published in the context opf psychoanalytic controversies about childhood sexuality etc., the authour's identity remains controversial although is commonly claimed to be Grete Lainer, an associate of pioneer psychoanalyst Hermine Hug-Helmuth (who was murdered, but that's another story...). (1, press opinions of 1st ed)+t.p.+xv+128+32 (pub.cat); apparently lacking fr. free endpaper, end gutters cracked but secure, otherwise internally clean, tight & unmarked in excellent clean covers with only minor extremety rubbing.

Good (+). 9 Cms x 14.5 Cms. viii+233, light red tinted edges; very early gift inscription to front endpaper, name label 'Westbury' to front pastedown, otherwise internally clean, tight and unmarked; cover rubbed to all edges and extremeties, top 2 cms spine missing though rest of gilt panelled spine and title label good. This popular work went through numrous editions from early in the century, this seems to date from late 1860s or 1870s (inscription refers to remembrance of 8th May 1861).
