Description:
New York: Valentine's Manual Inc, 1921. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/Fair. Octavo, 271pp., profusely illustrated. A good copy only, rather shaken, but internally clean, in a fair dust jacket, chipped and torn with some tape repairs to the verso. Large folding plate of 5th Avenue slightly creased, but bright and clean. A perfectly nice reading or reference copy of this labor of love; well-worn, but not criminally abused.

Description:
New York: Hurst and Company, 1900. Softcover. Near fine. 12mo, 584pp. Bound in contemporary limp leather covers with wide-margined yapped edges. Lightly worn at extremities, but not dramatically. Contents gently edgeworn, but clean. Not long after publication, the book's owner neatly carved (or stamped?) a thin landscape scene, and added three colors (green blue, and white) in addition to the black ink base, alongside the words "Burn's [sic] Poems." Since the imprint is American, we presume the artis was, as well. Though somewhat aateurish, still clearly evocative of the Art Nouveau/Arts and Crafts era of gift and novelty book publishing. Probably unique, and appealing thus.

Description:
Vietnam and New Jersey, 1968. Very good. Two photo albums, each measuring about 10.5" x 11.5". 196 photographs of various sizes, the vast marjority 3.5" x 3.5" including white borders, some larger and some smaller. Plus just over 100 pieces of correspondence from the "folks back home" to the soldier, includign handwritten letters and a number of greeting cards. The photographs are mostly in very good condition; some have lost a bit of content due to the sticky album leaves, while others have tape residue and the like, but most are nicely preserved. Many, though not most, have identifying captions, either to the versos or to the album leaves. A few of these use racist language (i. e. "zips along the road"). A rich photographic and personal archive of a US. Army soldier stationed in Vietnam during the intensification of the conflict. His original orders are present, and the soldier wrote in pen: "these are the orders that sent me to Vietnam. Keep them for me until I get home. Love, ___." By and large,…

Description:
[New York]: [Committee for Nonviolent Action], 1967. Very good +. One trifold pamphlet, about 11" x 8.5" when unfolded. Text double-sided. A few faint creases, and a bit age-toned, as it was printed on inexpensive paper. Still, overall very good or better. A mildly left-wing pamphlet aimed at an enlightened middle American audience, imploring them to learn more about the Vietcong and to ask more questions about what the US is doing fighting there. Quite scarce, as we found just one copy in OCLC at the time of listing.

Description:
McGregor, Iowa: C. T. Peick & Co, 1910. Staplebound. Very good. Oblong thin folio. An unusually long panoramic viewbook, measuring about 14" x 4.5". 17 color panoramic illustrations of picturesque and historical locales along the mighty Mississippi River, with 12pp. of printed tissue leaves, two of which introduce the material, while the others contain captions and summaries of the panoramas. Side-stapled (apparently as issued), and with some creasing and short marginal tearing to front cover and a few leaves, but otherwise clean and sound, which is unusual for so fragile and ephemeral a publication; overall very good. There seems to be little consistency among the few known copies of this panorama. OCLC records just a few holdings, each of which offers a different number of panoramic views contained within. Note that only the copy held at the Minnesota Historical Society contains the same numebr of plates and text leaves; all other holdings note far fewer panoramas (8, 7, and 5). A scarce and…

New York: Holt, Rinehart and Winston, 1971. First Edition. Hardcover. Near fine/near fine. Octavo, 636pp., illustrated. A crisp, clean copy, near fine, with a previous owner's blindstamp to the front free endpaper. Spine and front board gilt evenly dulled, as usual. In a near fine dust jacket, just a tinge offset on the front panel, and with very thin bubbling to the original lamination on the back panel. Nice copy of this epic memoir by Johnson, often found a little more beat up. There is an illustrated printed sticker neatly applied to the half-title page, which reads, "This first edition was purchased at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library Austin, Texas.

New York: Holt, Rinehart and Winston, 1971. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good -/good +. Octavo, 636pp., illustrated. About very good, with gilt darkened, in a good or better dust jacket, price-clipped, with two modest dampstains, and creases to the flaps. SIGNED and INSCRIBED by Lady Bird Johnson on the half-title page: "For Luis A. Arocena (?) - May this recall a moment of history we all shared. Lady Bird Johnson December 1979." Arocena's bookplate, which is ripped and torn, is affixed to the front paste-down. Our rudimentary research brings up a University of Texas professor of that name. Bookplate signatures can be found with some ease for this title (by Lady Bird and/or Lyndon), making this a scarcer example.

Description:
Cambridge, MA: Richard Brukenfeld, 1955. First Edition. Staplebound. Very good. Octavo, 35pp. A very good copy, gently age-toned, with a small area of sticker ghost on the front wrap, and some shallow insect damage to wraps, but the contents clean, bright, and sound. This is the true first printing, not to be confused with the 1969 facsimile reprint (the latter priced at "two dollars" on the rear wrap; this one priced at "one dollar). Corso's first book, and a wondeful document of the restless beat poet's thin grip on success. He was studying at Harvard, but threatened with expulsion by Dean Archibald Macleish, who only somewhat relented upon reading some of Corso's poetry, after which he allwed Corso to continue to audit classes. Some of Corso's classmates underwrote the publication of this volume.
