Description:
San Francisco, Calif: Self Published, 1955. 1st Edition . Spiral Bound. Good. Don Freeman. A rare item self-published by Freeman in a very small edition - prior to this copy I had not seen another copy for over 4 years. This copy comes from the personal estate of a long time Santa Barbara dealer. Front cover heavily toned along with edges of the first 5 or so leaves; front cover with some water stains and bottom corner is missing and 3 or so holes tearing at the wire binding. Back cover with some staining. Interior is clean except last 14 leaves have minor staining at the bottom edge that does not go into the image ranging from 3/4 inch going down to a tiny dot. A near wordless story (it has a sentence introducing the happy Skitzy and another sentence introducing the unhappy one) Published by Don Freeman at John D. Hooper Lithographers, 343 Front St., San Francisco, Calif. 14 x 11 cm (5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches) From the back cover of the 2008 reprint: .the delightful tribute to creative and…

Boston MA: Lee & Shepard, 1879. Hardcover. Very Good. This is a diatribe by the very talented Linton largely against the style of the even more talented Timothy Cole (see Linton's P.S. at the end of the book regarding their meeting). Cloth cover is wearing at top/bottom of spine and on corners. Toning on cover. Front gutter is starting and appears to be missing ffep.

Description:
New York: 1936 Random House, 1936. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Slip case-no DJ. Lynd Ward . Signed by Illustrator(s). Signed and #1010 out of 1250 copies printed from the blocks. Book: VG+. Spine is moderately toned as is typical; foil cover has light scratches and wear, which is also typical -caused by removing the book from the slipcover. Bottom edge has very minor bump. Gutters inside cover have toning that is typical and probably a reaction of the glue the binders originally used. Pages are clean and intact. Signed in pencil by Ward and numbered 1010 in black ink. SLIPCASE: VG- light toning, some marks and stains, wear most noticeable with rub marks on the gold foil strip. Corners and bottom edge starting split; invisible tape used to reinforce bottom edge and about 1 1/2 " of invisible tape applied to cover with some skinning where it appears as if an attempt was made to remove it (tape was not for any structural reasons-presumably someone taped a note on the case).
