Green cloth, titles and advertising stamped in red on the spine, red and black on the covers, endpaper and edge advertising, display ads on pale blue leaves. Board edges rubbed and light stains, cut edges minimally age toned, leaves crisp and bright, binding tight. Framed by paid advertising for everything from ice cream to anhydrous ammonia in a splendid variety of type faces, each county's section contains a descriptive sketch with chief political officers, followed by towns (the larger ones with their own sketches) listing names taken from the tax rolls and assessed property values. These are followed by a classified business directory sorted by business, by town and by name. A remarkably well-preserved copy.

Original stapled gray wraps with titles and illustration in brown on the front cover. Light wear to spine. A handsome photo-tribute to a crown jewel in the Seattle Parks Department, one of the few pockets of forest that escaped logging in the late 1800s. That was probably owing to its incarnation as Ravenna Springs Park, a private wonderland that opened in 1887. One photo features two massive old-growth firs, one named "Roosevelt" (after Teddy, and sometimes referred to as the "Big Stick" in reference to his aphorism, "... and carry a big stick." The other towering fir is "Lincoln."In 1913 Rosie was unceremoniously felled. Later it was revealed Seattle Parks Department Superintendent J. W. Fold-out map in front. Decorated endpapers. Bound in yellow cloth, a bit soiled, with SEATTLE stamped in black on spine. The map, tipped in to frontis., has caused that leaf to come loose. Plenty of great ads for local businesses, including that for the publisher, Charles Raymer. His ad reveals he came west from Minnesota, landing in Spokane where he opened Raymer's Old Book Store, thereafter buying C. T. Randall's Seattle Book Exchange. Among the photos is an interior shot of his bookshop. Scarce in hardcover, usually found in printed yellow wraps. SMITH 8515.
