With Brigham Young as governor and the Legislative Assembly totally Mormon, the laws passed were in accordance to church values. Probate courts were very important. Illustrated trade catalogue showing different images, illustrations and printing techniques for use with Aigrette Enameled Paper. "Aigrette is a new enameled paper produced for high grade printing. The surface is unusually smooth and the color is not too pink or too blue, but a beautiful bright white which adds greatly to the appearance of engravings in either halftone or multi-color work" - p.[1].

Anchorage, AK: Pacific Northern Airlines, The Alaska Flag Line, 1950. Color poster [91 cm x 61 cm] / [36" x 24"]. Crease at lower left, otherwise nice. Colors are vibrant and 'pop.'. Promotional poster from Pacific Northern Airlines advertising their service to Alaska, that features a montage of illustrations depicting skiers, a carved and painted totem, a fisherman in action, and a bear on its hind legs. In 1932 Arthur G. Woodley founded Woodley Airways flying routes across Alaska. In 1945, Woodley changed the name to Pacific Northern Airways and moved the company headquarters to Seattle. In 1951, Pacific Northern Airways was able to start running regular flights between Seattle and Anchorage, and continued to operate these and its routes within Alaska until it was taken over by Western Airlines in 1967. Western Airlines continued to offer flights under the Pacific Northern Airlines branding through the early 1970s.

The Allen Press, was a private press based in the San Francisco Bay area, founded in 1939 by husband and wife team Lewis and Dorothy Allen. Lewis Allen met Dorothy Caswell when they both studied at the University of California, Berkeley. The Allens were particularly fascinated by books produced by Aldus Manutius, William Morris, John Henry Nash, and the Grabhorns.

Utah's Alta Ski Area is often referred to as a "skier's mountain." It's one out of three ski-only areas in the United States, and for the past eight decades, it's provided a unique and authentic skiing experience. Generations of skiers have been coming to this ski haven nestled atop Little Cottonwood Canyon within the Wasatch Mountain Range for its quality deep powder, beautiful mountain scenery, and unfailing snowfall year after year. It was officially designated a ski area in 1938 with the construction of the second ski chairlift in the western U.S. (a couple years after Idaho's installation in Sun Valley).

Large mine tunnel map for the Columbus Consolidated Mine that was located in the infamous mining town of Alta, Utah. "The Columbus Consolidated Mining company own and operate one of the best producing mines in this district. It is located at Alta, in the Little Cottonwood Mining district and is recognized as being one of the best paying properties in that district. the company was incorporated about five years ago and employ about 125 men in their mine, shipping about 2,000 tones of ore a month" - Truth[!] (05/26/1906). Early Americas map from the renowned Nuremberg family of cartographers. California is shown as a peninsula and the Northwest Passage is also shown. Attractive cartouche at the lower left. Johann Baptist Homann was a cartographer and publisher; he founded a printing press in 1702, which was the origin of the publishing house 'Homann Heirs'. After his death his son J.C.Homann continued the business, and after his death in 1730 the company was continued under the name 'Homann Heirs'.

This monumental travel and tour guide to the United States and its cities includes notes on mileage and tours, sites of interest accessible by automobile, and historical sketches of localities. The publication of a work of this nature reflects the increase of leisure and travel in the U.S. and the attendant prosperity after the conclusion of the Second World War. Morgan authored the section titled 'Mountain States.' This item is the last part of either a five-volume off print or variant issue of the 'The American Guide: A Source Book and Complete Travel Guide for the United States.' Each volume printed two sections of the 'Guide' and was issued as an independent volume with a distinct title page and separate index, but with consecutive pagination. Saunders 21.
