This one has 7 monochrome plates by Mabel Lucie Attwell (there should be 8), the cover illustration is in colour, again by Attwell. This is an early work by Attwell dating from a time before her trademark style was established, Chambers were one of her early employers. There is some wear to the blue cloth covered boards and the ends papers are lightly tanned. There is a Salvation Army presentation book plate from 1919 inside the front board. A neat gifting on the reverse of the frontispiece, the front free end paper has been removed. The 4 colour plates are all present. No dust jacket but still tightly bound although the corners are bumped. 2 pages of advertisements for other titles by this publisher at the rear of the book.
