Individual leaf from the first Scottish Book of Common Prayer, which was influential on the American Book of Common Prayer. The leaf is in very good condition, especially considering that it is almost 400 years old. There is an occasional blemish from age or use, but these indications of age confirm the authenticity of the leaf and enhance its aesthetics and uniqueness. Each leaf is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The leaves are large, measuring approximately 7 ½ inches by 10 3/4 inches, and are suitable for framing. Most have one or more initial capitals of varying sizes which are decorated with geometric designs and/or illustrations (small images). They are printed on front and back in "black letter" or Gothic type. A scarce leaf from the first edition of the Scottish Book of Common Prayer. Suitable for framing. Makes an excellent gift.
