An important work by the distinguished mountaineering bibliographer, containing detailed summaries of the location, access, routes, and climbing history of each of the 400 known peaks between 7000 and 8000 meters.

Original blue paper-covered boards with gilt lettering, partial dust jacket. Some wear to top edge of boards, small sunned spot on lower front board, internally sound and clean. Dust jacket is heavily chipped, has internal tape repairs, and is missing a large triangular section from the front panel. A celebrated collection of 30 letters written by Jawaharlal Nehru to his daughter Indira in the summer of 1928, when she was 10 years old. Nehru would go on to be a major figure in the Indian Nationalist Movement and the first Prime Minister of independent India, a position he held for 17 years. This work is scarce in any early edition.

Promoting New Zealand as "The Great Britain of the South Seas," this brochure seeks to attract farmers on the basis of its climate, soil quality, and quality of life, as well as the availability of financing for land and equipment, agricultural education, and practical research and advice from experts at the Department of Agriculture. Illustrations show bountiful crops and harvest scenes, a view of the State Experimental Farm at Ruakora, a warehouse where wool is being sorted for export, and many handsome prize cattle and sheep.
