Second edition. 8.5" x 6.25", xii, 121 pp + 16 plates, with an original photograph (5.5" x 3.25") of Nehru tipped in on the front free endpaper. Original blue paper-covered boards with gilt lettering, partial dust jacket. Some wear to top edge of boards, small sunned spot on lower front board, internally sound and clean. Dust jacket is heavily chipped, has internal tape repairs, and is missing a large triangular section from the front panel. A celebrated collection of 30 letters written by Jawaharlal Nehru to his daughter Indira in the summer of 1928, when she was 10 years old. Nehru would go on to be a major figure in the Indian Nationalist Movement and the first Prime Minister of independent India, a position he held for 17 years. This work is scarce in any early edition.
