Illustrator: Photographic. 1.775 kg; 424 pages, roughly 100 illustrations, mostly in colour, colour illustrated dustjacket. Each style of cooking is accompanied by a glossary of the ingredients used. The first three sections are China, India, and Japan, followed by a section on South East Asia in general covering the cooking of Malaysia and Singapore, the Indians and Sri Lankans, the Javanese and Sumatrans, Thailand, Burma, Vietnam and Cambodia the Philippines and other places in between. The influence of Islam, of the Dutch and the French is most apparent in the latter section. All recipes are given with a metric/Imperial list of ingredients, side by side with an American list of ingredients. There is an English index, followed by an "ethnic index". Colour illustrated dustwrapper. The book is obviously second-hand but nevertheless in good condition, Slight rubbing of the edges of the dust jacket and trace of foxing to the inside of the top edge of the dust jacket.
