McCracken was instrumental in the development of the Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody. What is neat about this association copy is that McCracken printed his name nicely on the front paste down and dated it 1919 when he was 25 years old. Facing that on the ffep is his handwritten name and address in Anaconda, Montana. The front hinge of this copy is broken and desires repair. The cloth is lightly soiled.

The February, 2007, issue of FIRSTS: The Book Collectors' Magazine, has an excellent article by Charles Michaus on the pirated books printed in Taiwan, between the late 1950s into the 1980s. One of the classic and important military books on the frontier during the Indian Wars. A near fine copy with usual darkening to gilt on the spine titles. The second printing dj is same size as first printing dj with same coloring, lettering, & illustrations including backstrip. Price on the flap is same as on first printing, but repositioned. Minor textual position changes to info on flaps; rear panel with different list of OU books for sale. Because design/color/illus of the dj is the same, I have not discounted the price severely because it is a second printing dj, but of course the prospective buyer may beg to differ.

There is a moderate mustiness, not overwhelming to my nose but might be to your's. A sound copy that does not break the bank.
