Bracebridge Hall employs a similar format, consisting of loosely connected stories from his pseudonym Crayon who has installed himself at an English Country House. The extant literary works of Callimachus in the original greek with a translation into Latin by Bonaventura Vulcanius with annotations and index. Together with the bucolic poetry of Moschus of Syracuse and Bion of Smyrna. Callimachus is perhaps best remembered as a librarian in Alexandria performing the first recorded bibliographic survey but he was an innovative poet, reacting against the epic tradition, his short works are cynical and sensitive and would greatly influence his fellow Alexandrian Cavafy 2000 years later.
