C. Douglas Premier of Sask. Nov 25th 1955" during the time Douglas was premier of the province (from 1944 to 1961) Paul Malles info. There was an unexpected demand for French literature, given the abrupt surge in CCF popularity during 1942. To help alleviate that problem, the Québec Provincial council member Paul Malles volunteered to produce a monthly newsletter in both English and French. In 1957, the CLC also announced the appointment of Paul Malles of Montreal as Executive Assistant to C. H. Millard, Organizational Director of the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions.
