Henry Stevens was a bibliographer engaged by the British Museum to acquire books on America for its collections, which he likewise did for American institutions such as the Library of Congress and the Smithsonian.

Prior owner's name neatly in ink on flyleaves with some pencil erasure of prior booksellers' notes, else interior unmarked. A few pages in second volume with marginal tape repair, not obscuring text. Bindings are sound.
