As issued in red cloth over flexible boards; spine title is a trifle faded; contents clean; printed in red and black; illustrated throughout with 32 facsimiles in addition to a folding frontispiece and three other folding facsimiles. Dust jacket with printed paper spine label is a trifle darkened on the spine else and very gently shelfworn; both book and jacket are in Very Good or better condition. Stapled pamphlet, "Die Autobiographischen Aufzeichnungen Erhard Ratdolts 1462 - 1523" is present in the sleeve on the front pastedown. Uncommon look into 15th and 16th century printer. Text in German.

Wien: Philobiblon, 1933. First edition. Hardcover. Very good copy. Three issues of \"Philobiblon\" bound up in buckram. Illustrated in black and red. Text in German. \"Philobiblon, Eine Zeitschrift für Büchliebhaber\" [Philobiblion, A Journal for Bibliophiles] was published by Herbert Reichner in Vienna. These three issues of the magazine concern the great early printer, Erhard Ratdolt, who began in Venice in 1476. In 1482 and working with his partners, Maler and Löslein, he printed the first edition of Euclid\'s Elements, among many other notable works. After about ten years he returned to his home in Augsburg, Germany, where he continued printing, although now specializing in theological books.

With the similarly printed 12-page biographical pamphlet still in its paper band attached to the front pastedown endpaper. Limited edition: #167 of 200 copies printed. Binding is burgundy cloth. Text is in German language. The book is clean and tight; rubbed at spine extremities, with 1/16 inch tears at spine corners. Spine lightly sunned. Pages lightly tanning. Much nicer than it sounds--certainly a better than acceptable copy for the collector.. First Edition. Hardcover. Collectible-Very Good/No Dust Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book.
