Niagara Falls, New York, U. S. A.: C. Bierstadt. Good. Photograph. Soil and corner wear. Charles Bierstadt was known for his stereoscopic views of the American West, shot on several trips during the 1870s and 1880s. Bierstadt started selling his views through stereoscopic view publisher Underwood and Underwood in the late 1880s, dating this card to the 1880s-1890s with its tan mount and imprint indicating Bierstadt as the publisher but "Sold only by Underwood and Underwood." This scene, captioned on the left photo, shows people with a wagon in the distance in boulder-strewn Ogden Canyon. ; 3 1/2" x 7" .
