Book is definitely a good read, a little unjust in his take on how the brothers actualy assisted each other. I really don't think that Billy would have risked his career to assist his brother the way Howie speaks, although I do feel he new more of his brothers dealings than he will admitt. And I don't think Whitey would have been caught helping his brother since he was smart enough not to be too closely connected with the criminals under him. Quite an interesting look at politics and the city of Boston. Seems like some things just don't change, in Boston's case it just the players that change.

Very good book, if your into the mob that is. Also very interesting if you liked the movie Donnie Brasco. Quite a good look into the family from the movie and their inner workings. Just goes to show how drugs truely brought enough law down on the mob to start people flipping. In the book they talk about how their family was one of the last to have someone flip and once that happened, the flood gates opened up big time. The old timers new it was bad, but greed won out... A very good read.

Overall a good book, not the keep you on the edge of your seat kind of book but a very interesting read indeed. Very good insight to the troubles of Boston MA and good connection to other books for the same area and era. Quite interesting the connection to other true crime books of the same subjects.

If you enjoy the tv show deadliest catch you'll love this book. (I first ordered this book through Play Dayz books and was totally dissapointed with their service, and had to cancel the order and purchase through my local bookstore. I would definitely suggest not making a purchase through PLAY DAYZ.) Anyway, this book is a hard look at the whole ordeal that is involved in crab fishing. A side that is not looked into deep enough on the show. This is truely a tough book to read at times as you know that everything is the real deal. They don't have to embelish because the truth is scary enough. I love crabs and this subject always comes up whenever my gal and I go out for crabs. Of coarse they are fisherman and love to tell stories, but they are mostly the stories of drinking before and after their trip. A good read and worth the price.

This book is truely awesome! Many times I wondered why things were happening in NASCAR and at his own expense Bill Elliott lets the truth be known. If it were any other driver complaining you would know to take it with a grain of salt. But Bill has an enormous following for a reason. The man is truely a talented and driven individual, who comes from good stock(no pun intended)and good down to earth people who ask for nothing they haven't worked for. And to reach the top of his chosen sport, doing things the way they did is just amazing. I came into this sport at a time when Bill was just getting started and was quite impressed to find out the inside stuff. During the 80's NASCAR was a great enjoyment for me and my brother. It was something we both enjoyed and brought us and our families closer together. It was truely a great time for NASCAR. Then came the 90's and then present day, where it is definitely a different sport. Bill talks about much of this in his book and honestly it has hit very close to home. I must say i'm not much of a fan anymore, things have changed so much and for the worse. I miss the old days where an independant team could compete and be successful, and it wasn't just the Elliotts, there were several good independants, but those days are long gone...I hope someone steps in and rights the ship because their heading down a road they won't be able to return from. All but the top team has had to take on partners, how much longer can NASCAR stay in buisness if their not profitable? I guess we'll just have to wait and see but I can tell you this, if your a NASCAR fan, even if you don't like Bill or have a different favorite, this is a must read. Thank You

This book is a sham! If you're looking for an average book of fiction about the mob this book is for you. To say this book is non-fiction with just a few embellishments is a joke. This book is told from the point of view of an author who was in law enforcement and has already told his N.F. story in his 1st book and talks as a storyteller, filling in important details out of his head, he should know better but his interest is in selling the book. I will need to read the authors first book on the same subject to be totally fair but this book is just a waste of time.
