New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1897 Beautiful dark red binding with an ivory cameo inset with an elephant and a swastika (a Hindu religious symbol), a gilt border on the front cover, gilt printing on the spine and a gilt decoration on the spine. The binding has no bumping or rubbing. Gilt top edges of the 359pages, deckle-edged. The pages are crisp, clean, unmarked, uncreased. Appears to be unread with some uncut pages. Frontispiece, and all illustrations, with tissue guards. The binding is good and tight even though the back hinge is starting to crack, else fine. A fine collector's copy from a non-smoking household. Pictures available upon request. We have other volumes of this series. We ship daily.. 2nd Edition. Cloth. Very Good +/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
