FAIR / NO DUST JACKET. xvi, 180, x, 253, 18, 2 pp. Text clean and unmarked except for previous owner's name in pencil at free front endpaper. ll edges gilt. Foxed throughout. 1 1/2" strip removed from outside of rear flyleaf. Illustrated with an engraved frontispiece portrait of Robert Burns, and an engraved illustration of the birthplace of Burn at title page, and a full page engraving "The Cotter's Saturday Night" in the text. All illustrations protected with tissue. Blue cloth boards with blindstamped decoration and borders at front and back. Gilt decoration at front, back, and spine, lettered in gilt at spine. Boards sunned, edges rubbed, corners rubbed, lower corners bumped, spine top and tail frayed. Joints and hinges good, binding firm.
