The very uncommon "Subscription Edition" published the same year as the first printing but with a different cover design and a new preface by Washington dated July 22, 1904. Near-fine (slight spine slant) with sunning to white lettering on spine and two pages with slight corner creases, otherwise bright and clean inside and out. With many full-page photos. A beautiful copy of Washington's follow-up to his classic "Up From Slavery.
