New York: E.P. Dutton & Company, 1936. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Good/Very Good. Large 8vo., 338pp. Sharp Stated First Edition of this autobiography of the socialite who married into the Vanderbilt clan and best known as the mother of the fashion designer of the same name and the grandmother of Anderson Copper. Bound in black cloth with titles in gilt on spine and front board. Square, tight and clean throughout with mildly toning page edges and off-setting to gutters. Gentle bumping to spine ends. Attractive unclipped dust-jacket, ($3.00), has some chipping to the crown and a 1" chip to the top front edge. a few short closed edge-tears. Mild edge-wear. Still bright and complete. Inscribed and signed to an unknown reader on the front end-paper. A sharp collectable copy and quite scarce.
