Thanking Montreal journalist C. L. Sibley for the biographical sketch that has been written, of his family history, and requesting the special printing of 50 proofs. A couple of fold slits to letterhead otherwise good condition.
William M. Birks Montreal businessman; son of Henry Birks, founder of Birks Jeweller. Birks (the son) held a variety of significant posts, including Vice-Presidencyof Henry Birks and Company, Governor of McGil| University, President of the Association of Canadian Clubs (1920), and President of the Montreal Board of Trade (1922). Birks vigorously promoted church union and was interested in church architecture.
