About This Item

Lawrence, Kansas: University Press of Kansas, 1996. 1st Edition, 1st Printing . Hardcover. Fine/Fine. Volume has crimson cloth covers with silver lettering on the spine. Dust jacket is protected in a Brodart cover. Clean, new, tight, and bright. Never Used, As New. The central thesis of the book is that scholars haveoften viewed the sale of alcohol to Native Americans as a ploy by Euro-Americans to trick them into unfair land and trade deals. But Unrau makes it clear that alcoholic consumption by Native Americans was the inevitable consequence of cultural confluence. A very nice copy.
