Pencil inscription (and loosely inserted business card) from member of the WWI Aero Historians Mid-West Chapter. Nice cover illustration of British biplane. Aviation Classics reprint of 1926 original. This is the diary of one of the first American aviators who came to Europe in the last 2 years of the First World war. He was killed in action in the closing months of the war. The book tells of his training and the air war in France. Tells precisely, yet dramatically, what the business of flying meant to an average pilot in 1917 and 1918. . First Thus. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo.
