About This Item
New York,: Abrams,, 2002.. Francis Naumann's text in this survey of Putnam's career traces the artist's life and offers an analysis of his work. Illustrating this book are not only 225 reproductions but also many portraits and informal snapshots made by Putnam's wife, the important photographer Consuelo Kanaga. She documented the evolution of many of his works as well as moments in their private lives in New York City and at their Westchester home, a converted icehouse in Yorktown Heights. Collectors, students of American art of the twentieth century, and all those interested in the cultural scene of New York at mid-century will find valuable information here on the life and work of a heretofore little-known artist of significance and importance.. 31 cm, 336 pp. With 276 illustrations, including 186 plates in full color. About Antiquariaat Marc Van de Wiele
In 1976 Marc Van de Wiele rents a small shop in Prinsenhof, in Bruges. In 1977 he marries Anette. They move to the Sint-Salvatorskoorstraat, very close to the Simon Stévin square, a few years later.
In 1992, they buy and renovate a historical building on the corner of the Sint-Salvatorskerkhof and the Heilige Geeststraat.
Since forty years Marc Van de Wiele specialises in illustrated books from the 15th till the 20th century: books of hours, incunabula, natural history, atlases, medical books and books of artists. In 2004 Nathalie Van de Wiele (degree in romance languages) came into the business.
