Small quarto (10 by 6 1/4 inches) London: Vernor, Hood, and Sharpe, Poultry; Darton and Harvey, Gracechurch Street; and J. Storer and J. Greig, Engravers, . . . , 1806. Original First Edition. 55 pages illustrated with 15 unnumbered leaves of fine engraved plates: 2 portraits (including frontispiece), hardcover, rebound in old brown cloth, with gilt label affixed to spine, very good condition (unobtrusive small gift stamp on back of front fly leaf, deckled edges with scattered old moisture stains along lower margins of a few pages, not affecting contents or plates).
Considered "a working class poet," this "memoir" is accompanied by selections from several of his works in the text, (including The Farmer's Boy), and fine engravings of locations that figured prominently in the the poet's life.
