About This Item
1930. WODEHOUSE, P.G. VERY GOOD, JEEVES. Garden City, NY: Doubleday, Doran, 1930. Small 8vo., orange cloth in dust jacket; 340 pages. First Edition (so stated on the copyright page). There is an interesting story behind the dust jacket for this title and, if your copy is price-clipped, don't worry- apparently they all are! The publisher either didn't put a price or clipped it from all of the dust jackets and issued with book with a wrap-around band that advertised the book had been reduced from $2.50 to $2.00 and was now selling for $1.00, probably due to the Depression affecting sales. The dust jacket has the code "746" on the front flap and "743" on the rear flap. Very Good (little soil covers & little wear head of spine; little minor discoloration rear pastedown); little soil & minor edgewear (clean one-inch tear) d/j. $500.00.
