About This Item
New York: Composer-Produced, 1958. Assumed First Edition . Stapled Wraps [without cover]. Very Good. 11" x 14. Distinguished American composer Leo Kraft (1922-2014) was a master of orchestration, and his "Variations" overflow with unique timbral blendings and justapositions. STRUCTURE: Theme - Largo e maestoso; Variation I - Allegro moderato; II - Commodo; III - Allegro; IV - Andantino; V - Allegro vivace: VI - Lento e sostenuto; VII - Allegro deciso - Largo. 68 pages. Duration: 21-22 minutes. CONDITION: This solidly-bound composer-produced score has moderate shelf-wear, several previously-creased bottom corners, and some age-darkening to many of the early pages (visible in our first scan image). The entire score includes numerous pencilled additions and amendations by the composer - perhaps for a performance, or perhaps for eventual publication. This rare copy is now in a clear protective polypropylene bag with archival backing board.
