About This Item
New York, NY: Atheneum, 1991. First Edition, First Printing . Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. EX-LIB/UNCIRCULATED Copy. Text/BRAND NEW. Illustrated DJ/NF; under library mylar. An exciting mystery in which kidnapping attempts are made on an ancient Egyptian mummy newly donated to Vandemark College of Portland, Maine. Our dectives are 12 year old Phineas Hall and his 15 year old sister Althea. They are spending the summer on the Vandemark campus where their father has just acquired the post of teaching classical languages, and has somehow become curator of Egyptian artifacts (a subject in which the man is not particularly qualified). The mummy is known not to be of great value ... why, then, would someone be interested in stealing it and even attempt murder in the process?
