New York: Alfred A Knopf, 1971. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 5th Printing. Spine tight, boards rigid, tips pointed. Some edges slightly rubbed. No remainder mark but slight erasers on top of front free endpaper. Black top stain with orange boards and black backstrip. Dust jack is price clipped has wear at most edges especially at spine ends. Looks dashing in a new shiny mylar dust protector. Shipping box is suitable for wrapping. .
Synopsis
Ross Macdonald's real name was Kenneth Millar. Born near San Francisco in 1915 and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Millar returned to the U.S. as a young man and published his first novel in 1944. He served as the President of the Mystery Writers of America and was awarded their Grand Master Award, as well as the Mystery Writers of Great Britain's Silver Dagger Award. He died in 1983.
