Cambridge, MA, 1910. unbound. 2 pages, 11 x 8.5 inches, Cambridge, MA, March 3, 1910. This letter, which includes one holograph correction, was written to a descendant of Elbridge Gerry regarding a challenge to a Massachusetts law prohibiting children under 14 from working on the stage, in part: "I am much obliged to you for sedning [sic] me your article on the 'Children of the Stage'...it covers the ground admirably and undoubtedly has produced many salutary effects on law and custom..." Horizontal and vertical folds; near fine condition.<br/><br/> American academic who became the president of Harvard in 1869.<br/><br/>
