About This Item

London: Heinemann, 1950. First edition, first printing. Published by Heinemann in London, 1950. This is a very good copy. The dust wrapper is beautifully illustrated with the titular town and has had some professional restorative work at the top of the spine There are some major chips to the top corners, with slight closed tears throughout. It has not been price clipped, showing the original 10s 6d net price. The flaps are also slightly toned and creased. There are some handling marks to the rear panel. The boards, bound in the original publishers cloth with the impressed title to the front panel are free from notable chips and marks. The internals are so slightly toned, though the text blocks are free from foxing. This copy is free from inscriptions and is, overall, in very good condition. Published when the author had just settled in Australia.

Synopsis

A Town Like Alice is a novel by the Australian author Nevil Shute. It was first published in 1950 when Shute had newly settled in Australia.
