About This Item
[N.p]: A. J. Weberman, [N.d]. First "bootleg" edition. Very good.. S. Clay Wilson [illus].. Psychedelic pink stapled wrappers, printed in black. Wraps illustrated by A. J. Weberman; interior back panel by S. Clay Wilson entitled "The Meth Freaks Fight the Feds to the Finish," dated 1967. Outer wraps modestly soiled, sun fading along front edge. 71 pp., numbered from 7 - 78. A copy of Tarantula, published by Bantam Books is included for collector's reference. This rather scarce copy has been held in a private collection since purchase. A very good copy.
Early edition. Although this edition is not dated, there is a reference by the publisher Weberman on the verso of the upper wrap, "You'll never be able to figure this mother out unless you have a Dylan Word Concordance which tells you the contexts of all Dylan's symbols. I'm working on that now...." His Concordance was finally published in 1971, which indicates this edition predates the publication. I would hazard 1967-68 based on the publisher's note which includes, "The copy we received to work from was xeroxed and, according to the grapevine, was taken from the printer's galleys. We have tried to keep as close to that as possible. This edition has the same number of pages. Each line has the same words in it. The graphics were of our own choosing.
