London: Richard Bentley & Son, 1893 "New edition." 12mo, viii & 463 pp. Contemporary half black calf & marbled paper lettered & decorated in gilt on the spine.
Moderately rubbed, bookplate & previous owner's signature, otherwise very good.
Originally published pseudonymously in 1871, this "new edition" was issued shortly after the author's death at age 50 As noted in her obituary, "what Mr Hardy is to the West Country, Mary Linskill might have been to the North Riding of Yorkshire."
